Bachelorette but make it unconventional? Meditation in the mountains could be your best friend!

Sun up in the mountains? Anyday!

Sun up in the mountains? Anyday!

It’s almost unbelievable that December is coming to an end and so is 2022. Swoosh! Just passed by like it wasn’t one of the busiest yet most exciting months of the year for me. Why, you ask? Well, my wedding is just in 3 days from now and as thrilled as I am, I just had one of the best weekends of my life.

As they say, “Happy is the bride the sun shines on,” and boy, did it shine, all right! Add mountains, steaming hot cups of coffee, decadent chocolate cake, two little fur balls – Damroo and Bhairav – and a whole lot of adventure to the mix and you have my dream bachelorette right there.

GOING THE UNCONVENTIONAL ROUTE?!

I always knew that I wasn’t one to party till the sun up or down myself in waves of alcohol and call it a night. I knew my bachelorette weekend had to be different; it had to be the very reflection of the woman I have become over the years. It probably sounds unconventional but that was the whole idea of it. To resonate with the person I have become now, I was looking for a place to crash in the mountains where I could stare at the trees, have meaningful conversations with people, meditate and eat wholesome food blanketed by the cold breeze around me.

Lo and behold, I found one! Nestled away from the scorching heat of the plains, perched atop the mountains of Kumaon region of Uttarakhand is the ever-beautiful Moksham Campsite in Pangot, Nainital. While I did have something of a really peaceful property in mind for my bachelorette, this one totally hit right in the feels the moment I checked in with my best friend. So much better than expected! Clad in dense deodar and oak forest, it boasts of quintessential experiences, spiritual uplift and the warmest hospitality.

MOUNTAINS HAVE CALLED!

My trip to the mountains was definitely unconventional, considering it was my bachelorette, but to each their own, right? As soon as I entered the property, it hit me – I’m finally here and the vibe? God, immaculate. With a dedicated temple for Lord Shiva, designed tastefully, at the entry, it changed the whole game for the feel of the place. I knew I did the right thing. Mountains, chilly winds, prayer flags around, and an unparalleled glamping setup – could I have really asked for more!?

What followed was a night of enlightening conversations about life, existence, spiritual awakening and so much more with the founder couple Ankit Karki and Yashika themselves.
What a delight, I must say. When I got to know that the property started functioning in 2019, I was taken aback for a moment. Why, you ask? Well, for one as young as Moksham Campsite, it was unbelievable how successfully it has been running ever since. Ask your favourite influencer or celeb, and they’ll know about it. Such has been the charm of this place. In fact, these two make up for such warm hosts that it would be unbelievable if their property wasn’t a safe haven for travellers like me.

Night with the right kind of subtle buzz, meaningful conversation, early trip to the bed, sunrise right in front of my eyes, meditative experience followed by a scrumptious English Breakfast – that, my readers, was my bachelorette and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
