Treat your skin with some amazing home remedies that help lighten the areas

New Delhi: With the festival season coming up, everyone likes to get dressed and look their best. With a slew of parties and get-togethers in the offing, it is time to prepare for Diwali festivities.

Remedies like facials, scrubbing and massage treatments to get a glowing look but, when it comes to the neck, we often don’t take enough care.

As a result, the skin around our neck is darker than in other areas. Just like the skin on the face or neck also gets almost the same amount of exposure. Here are some home remedies that you can follow to lighten the dark skin on your neck, especially during the upcoming festival season.

Here are a few home remedies that can help lighten the skin and give it a glowing look:

  • Aloe vera gel: Aloe vera is the most skin-friendly herb that helps soften, moisturise and hydrate it. Aloe vera is rich in antioxidants and helps lighten the skin as well. Take fresh aloe vera gel and apply it directly to your neck. Gently massage and let it sit for some 20 minutes and thereafter rinse with cold water. Apply regularly to see a marked difference within days.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar: Apple cider vinegar helps balance the pH levels of the skin and helps remove skin cells. Douse the cotton ball, dip it in the solution and apply it around your neck. Leave it on for ten minutes and rinse it off with water. For the best results, you can do this every day.
  • Baking soda: One of the best ways to get rid of dead skin cells is by using baking soda regularly. This wonderful kitchen ingredient helps remove dirt and nourish the skin from within. Mix just two tablespoons of baking soda with water and form a smooth paste. Apply on the neck daily and scrub when dries. Thereafter, wash with water and see the change within a week.
  • Potato juice: Potatoes have bleaching properties and can lighten the skin to a considerable extent. They can make the skin tone even. Just squish a potato and apply its juice with the help of a cotton ball on the affected area. Once it dries, just rinse off with water and repeat the exercise daily.
  • Turmeric: A traditional ubtan made with turmeric and gram flour helps brighten the skin tone, instantly. Mix two tablespoons of besan, some lemon juice, a pinch of turmeric, and some rose water. Mix all of them and apply them on the neck at least twice a week.
